The Holidays are upon us!

I barely had time to blink my eyes and Christmas is here! Don’t worry though, there’s plenty for you to do. We have a great book display of different things you can make for Christmas, such as: knitting and crocheting books, card making books, nifty craft books and tons more. So if you haven’t found the perfect gift for those you love (or just like), maybe something in the library will help give you an idea. If somehow you STILL haven’t thought of a great gift idea, just ask your friendly librarian to give you a hand!
After the holidays are over (but the new year still hasn’t begun) we have a few things you can do at the library, especially if you’re already crazy from being cooped up at home.
On Tuesday, December 28 from 3:30 – 4:30 PM we will be creating snowman bracelets out of seed beads and safety pins. Sign up ahead of time, since space is limited.
On Thursday, December 30 from 3 – 4:30 PM (approximately) we will be showing a special movie. There’s no need to sign up, but call ahead of time if you’d like to know what movie we’re showing (it’s a fun one!)
Starting in the new year we will be having our First Annual (hopefully) Photography Contest! The theme for our contest this year is Parma’s Winter Wonderland. Hopefully we’ll get a big snow storm and you can take pictures of snow angels, snow ball fights and other snowy stuff. You have all of January to take your two pictures. In February we’ll have judges pick the winners and during February recess we’ll have an awards ceremony with cookies, punch and prizes!
